Networking and relationship building are essential skills for law students and lawyers. Effective networking skills play an important part in the job-seeking process and will also benefit lawyers and legal professionals throughout their careers. This program will introduce the What, Why and How of networking. Taking the form of a panel discussion and Q&A, the panelists will share from the perspective of law student, young lawyer and senior partner. This program puts special focus on challenges faced by foreign law students, follow up after initial meeting, and also tips for networking in the time of social distancing. Amy Sommers has over 27 years of experience working with China related issues. She was a former partner of leading law firms including Garvey Schubert Barer, Squire Sanders and Dempsey, and K&L Gates. Ms. Sommers served as a chair of the China Law Committee of the ABA Section of International Law. William Wu is a corporate attorney with a focus on mergers and acquisitions at Davis Wright Tremaine. He graduated from East China University of Political Science and obtained JD from University of Virginia. William is the Secretary of Seattle Chinese Bar Association. Yanfei Wang is the Vice President of Seattle Chinese Bar Association. She graduated from Tsinghua University and is currently pursuing JD degree at University of Washington. Prior to law school in the US, she was an associate with Zhong Lun Law Firm. Washington Bar Continued Legal Education 1 credit approved.
