Senior recruiter Ms. Peraza will introduce the strategy and advice on how to best market your candidacy in the legal market from a diverse recruiting perspective. 

1. Recognizing the cultural difference, how to make your diverse background work for you? 

2. Resume prep 101 – what are some things a recruiter look for in a candidate? Things to avoid? Things to add? 

3. LinkedIn 101 –Does a candidate really need a LinkedIn profile? How to utilize LinkedIn to maximize your opportunity? 

4. Networking in U.S. v. Asia – How can you build your personal brand to attract potential employers?  

Speaker Hiroko Peraza is the Senior Manager of Attorney Recruitment & Inclusion at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP. In this role, she focuses on enhancing firm-wide diversity outreach, sourcing and recruitment opportunities for law student, entry-level, and lateral attorney candidates. She works closely with the student recruiting team on the summer associate program and manages the diversity scholarships firm-wide. Hiroko is a member of the firm’s Affinity Groups including: Attorney of Color, LGBTQ and Veteran’s Groups. She’s also a member of the Portland Office Diversity & Inclusion Committee and works to continue the firm’s efforts toward creating an inclusive work environment for all current and future employees. Hiroko was born and raised in Japan until moving to Oregon during her senior year in high school. Based on her background in both Asian and American culture, she brings a unique prospective and offers guidance to law students, foreign attorneys and others who may be new to the U.S. legal job market.  This event is co-hosted by Seattle Chinese Bar Association and Davis Wright Tremaine LLP.
